Desperate Housewives (2006-2007)

A primetime soap with a contemporary take on the "happily ever after," this series takes a darkly comedic look at suburbia, where the secret lives of housewives aren't always what they seem.

Dixie plays Orson (Kyle Machlachlan) Hodge's mother, Gloria, who immediately proves herself a difficult and disruptive entity. Series creator Marc Cherry, who had been Dixie's personal assistant during her Designing Women days, requested she "de-glam" for the role, wearing a grey wig and carrying a cane as a reminder of her character's recent (mysterious) accident.
